The interview

Why did you choose to recommend RSH Engineering?

I've recommended RSH Engineering several times because of the value I got out of it. Whenever we purchase a home, we're making a big investment and we want to make sure that what we're walking into is safe, secure and we don't have any issues right down the road.

What was your impression of Mathew Joseph's evaluation process?

Whenever Mathew did his evaluation, he did an outstanding job. He pointed out all these issues and I felt very comfortable. I paid a small percentage of what I could have paid if I potentially hired somebody else without the knowledge that he has.

As a civil engineer, why did you hire another engineer for your home inspection?

I hired an engineer because I felt that someone with an engineering degree would be more suited to do a home inspection because they're more familiar with all the building codes and regulatory laws in the area. It was very well worth every dime of it. I got way more information than I would have got from a traditional home inspector.

What were the specific benefits of the 10-month inspection?

The #1 benefit in hiring Mathew Joseph with RSH Engineering has been the fact that, again, I feel very comfortable with the assessment that he made when going through and inspecting my home. He pointed out so many issues at my 10-month inspection.

Did the service provide anything beyond a standard technical report?

The thing I thought I was getting was a home inspection. However, I got more of a buyer's coach because he told me exactly how to handle the superintendent and builder, what to say.

How would you describe the speed and efficiency of the service?

Mathew Joseph at RSH Engineering is the best in the world at identifying issues quickly and getting answers and recommendations back to you within 24 to 48 hours.

Was there anything that surprised you about the experience?

What surprised me about the experience with Matthew is the fact that I had to make some changes in my schedule and he was able to be very flexible with those and come out last minute and make this inspection happen just before I was able to move into the house.
