Tony Surles utilized Advanced Longevity to transition from reactive to proactive health ownership. Despite feeling healthy, his 5-to-7-minute scan identified a moderate heart calcium score and a thyroid mass. These comprehensive results allowed his cardiologist and endocrinologist to diagnose and treat conditions that Surles previously had no knowledge of, potentially preventing major future illnesses.

The interview
What is your overall impression of Advanced Longevity?
I think Advanced Longevity is terrific. And the reason I think it's so great is because it affords anyone that goes through that door, has that scan done, an opportunity to live a longer life, a life that is illness-free, and it provides us with resources and people in the organization that can address the conditions that we have.
What was your primary motivation for engaging with the imaging center?
I engaged with Illumo in the Plano Imaging Center. We'd heard great things about the organization, and as a captive program manager I wanted to be able to share this cost containment strategy I hoped with my population.
Did you have any hesitations or objections before visiting?
The #1 reason that I almost did not visit is because I'm one of those people that believes that I'm never sick. If I feel well, I must be well. And I had no real need in my mind to have any imaging done.
What were the specific findings from your screening?
As a result of visiting the program I have realized that there actually were some issues that needed to be addressed. It was determined that I had a moderate risk calcium scoring, which is related to my heart. And there was also detection noted that my thyroid had a mass, which required further imaging.
What surprised you most about the testing process?
What surprised me the most is the fact that the test itself is extremely easy. The test took about 5 to 7 minutes. Easiest thing I've ever done. And the results actually came back in what I consider to be a fast way, and they were results that were extremely comprehensive in nature.
How did you use the results provided by the scan?
I was able to take the results to all of my doctors, specifically my endocrinologist and my cardiologist, and share that with them so that they could better diagnose the condition itself and determine what treatment was necessary.
Would you recommend this service to others?
I will recommend this scan to all of my co-workers but most importantly to all of my clients. This is a proactive way to approach employee wellness. The initial investment is so incredibly low compared to the outcome.
Frequently asked
Do I need a full body scan if I feel healthy and have no symptoms?

How long does the Advanced Longevity imaging process take?
According to Tony Surles, the test itself is extremely easy and efficient, taking only about 5 to 7 minutes to complete.
Can I share Advanced Longevity results with my own doctors?
