The interview
Why do you recommend Book Launchers?
I recommend Book Launchers because they are a one-stop shop for everything that one would need as a self-published author, and they include a community of other self-published authors and experts that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. It's a really great one-stop holistic idea of what it takes to get from your idea for your book all the way through publishing and then marketing it beyond.
What was your situation before joining the Author Business Accelerator?
Before I joined the Author Business Accelerator, I was stumbling along in the distribution area, and wasn't getting into the hands of readers. And I felt really alone in my journey. I didn't have people who understood what I was talking about to talk through my challenges with it. After putting so much effort into publishing the book, it was a really hard place to be.
How has your experience changed since working with Book Launchers?
Since Book Launchers has been in my life, it has been an amazing switch. I've been able to have people around who understand what I'm going through. I've been able to bounce questions and ideas about my work with the community and with professionals and it's been really helpful.
What specific benefits have you gained from the program?
The benefits I've gotten have been a community of people who know what I'm going through, and a community of experts who are able to look at what I'm proposing to put out there and give me really concrete feedback. The accountability tools—asking 'What is your goal for this week?' and 'How are you going to meet it?'—and checking in throughout the week have been really helpful as well.
How has this impacted your confidence in your work?
It has been a place where I can review my work with people in my community and with experts in the publishing community before I put it out into the world so that I know and I'm secure in the product that I'm putting out there.
What measurable results have you seen since launching your book?
Since launching my book, I've been able to appear on many more podcasts. I am becoming well known in my circle of ADHD coaching and I am increasing regularly on a weekly basis; my viewers and my subscribers are going up.
