Lauren Robertshaw reviewed Dr. Ana-Maria Temple’s Eczema Transformation program, reporting that her son Shepherd is no longer struggling with severe eczema. After starting the program a year ago, the family transitioned from constant itching and restrictive clothing to enjoying the outdoors and a wider variety of foods without skin reactions or nighttime crying.

“He's not crying and itching at night or in the bathtub. We can freely eat a lot of different things that we weren't able to eat before.”
“The pediatrician looked at us and said, join the whatever percent of kids like... She pretty much brushed it off and acted like it wasn't a huge deal. That answer was not enough for us.”
“We can go outside with shorts on, and that sounds like it's not a big deal, but when you have them completely wrapped all months of the year... it's like a real treat.”
The interview
What was life like before finding the Eczema Transformation program?
Life was confusing. My son, Shepherd, developed eczema pretty severely and pretty instantly right around eight months old. I was so desperate for something; I was crying and stressed out all the time because my son was miserable, itching, and crying at night and in the bathtub.
What made you decide to join the program?
First of all, the testimonials and talking to other moms and seeing that something was working for their children. I started following Dr. Temple on Instagram after reading her book; knowing she had three children who walked through what my son was walking through made me develop trust in her.
How did your experience with your regular pediatrician go?
We took him to the pediatrician because I was confused and trying to get help anywhere I could. The pediatrician looked at us and pretty much brushed it off and acted like it wasn't a huge deal. That answer was not enough for us; we didn't accept it.
What surprised you most about the program?
What surprised me most is that this is not his whole life. Before the program, I thought we'd just have to figure out how to live with it forever. The eczema program made a way for us to see that this is just temporary.
How has life changed for your son and your family now?
Life now is so much different than it was a year ago. My son is not miserable or itching. We can go outside with shorts on, which is a real treat because we used to have him completely wrapped all months of the year. We can also freely eat a lot of different things now.
Why do you recommend this program to others?
I recommend it because it gives you a roadmap and tells you exactly how to tackle this. It lays out the causes and steps in baby steps so you aren't overwhelmed. You don't have to go and do all of your own research or decipher what to do; it's just laid out right in front of you.
Frequently asked
Is the Eczema Transformation program worth the cost?
Lauren Robertshaw noted that while the program is an expense, she and her husband viewed it as 'priceless' to regain their son's comfort and their own sanity. They chose to invest to avoid the risks of her son developing further health issues later in life.
How does Dr. Ana-Maria Temple's approach differ from a standard pediatrician?
Lauren found that her pediatrician brushed off the condition as something many kids deal with, whereas Dr. Temple provided a clear roadmap. The program broke down the causes and steps into manageable 'baby steps' rather than leaving the family to do their own confusing research.
Can a child with severe eczema eventually eat a normal diet?
Yes, according to Lauren, her son can now freely eat many different things that they were unable to eat before completing the Eczema Transformation program.
