The interview

How has your experience with Dr. Rob Whitfield impacted your life?

I would say that Dr. Rob has completely transformed my life. Not only my health, but it's given me so much back that I feel like I have a new beginning on life.

What symptoms were you experiencing before meeting Dr. Whitfield?

The last few years have been very difficult. I had a lot of different symptoms ranging from fatigue, depression, a lot of gastrointestinal issues. My labs also started to paint a picture that things were not right. My hormones were off, I had little to zero testosterone.

Why did you choose Dr. Rob Whitfield for your explant surgery?

My first interview with Dr. Robert Whitfield was a Zoom call. After meeting with him and talking to him and learning more about his experience and my symptoms, and just really feeling validated for the first time, I felt incredibly comfortable choosing him. I really didn't need to look any further.

What was the recovery process like with the team?

The recovery process with the team has been—one day post-op going into the office, the team was incredible. I had a little bit more of a difficult recovery physically, and everybody was extremely kind, accommodating, and basically there for me step by step. The process of coming back home and having the calls with providers and check-ins has just been so reassuring.

How do you feel now compared to before the surgery?

From where I'm at now to where I had the surgery, I'm so much stronger, just not only physically, mentally, emotionally. So many of my symptoms have already improved. So many of my labs have already improved. To actually see something measurable that you can look and see where you've been to where you are now is incredibly powerful.

Why would you recommend Dr. Rob to others?

I would recommend Dr. Rob because he is an expert in breast implant illness. He is an expert in functional medicine, which was super important to me. That it's not just a surgical procedure where you're cut, the procedure is done, and then it's hands off. Dr. Rob's entire philosophy is very comprehensive in treating the whole patient.

Frequently asked

No, Brooke Ochojski emphasizes that Dr. Rob is an expert in functional medicine, offering a comprehensive program that treats the whole patient before, during, and after surgery rather than just performing a procedure and being 'hands off.'

What is the recovery support like at Dr. Rob Whitfield’s office?

Brooke describes the care as incredibly comprehensive, involving one-day post-op office visits and ongoing calls with providers to manage symptoms and monitor the journey of healing even after returning home.

Can lab results actually improve after an explant surgery?

Yes, Brooke noted that not only did her physical symptoms improve, but she saw measurable changes in her labs, specifically regarding her hormone levels and testosterone which were previously 'off' or near zero.
