Jacob Debernardi credits Dr. Tyler Panzner with transforming his health by decoding his DNA to address chronic brain fog. By identifying a genetic GABA detection deficiency, Jacob transitioned from ineffective stimulants to a calming, personalized protocol. This shift stopped downward thought spirals and allowed him to regain a calm presence of mind and life progress.

At a glance

Primary Use Case
Chronic brain fog and inability to produce clear thoughts.
Reported Result
Eliminated downward thought spirals and regained calm presence of mind.
Key Discovery
Genetic deficiency in GABA detection requiring a shift from stimulants to calming agents.
I had been going through a lot of brain fog. It was the main thing, just a inability for my mind to produce thoughts of its own.
The things I'd been taking were things to kind of like step on the gas pedal... kind of putting the foot on the brake a little bit, which is something that came out of a DNA test that I'm not good at GABA detection.
I'd say the biggest thing that's come out of it is that just because you take one supplement, it can have three to five different actions on you, and just being more intentional with what I take has been very helpful.

The interview

What improvements have you seen since working with Dr. Tyler?

I've seen more improvements in just being able to take a fair evaluation of myself and where I'm at in life and where I'd like to go. I'd say life is not so overwhelming such that I cannot take a fair appraisal of myself. I don't get caught in downward thought spirals as often, and I can see my life progress picking up again.

What specific health challenges were you facing before starting?

I had been going through a lot of brain fog. It was the main thing, just an inability for my mind to produce thoughts of its own, which is a very tough place to be. I'd gone to some medical experts, like a gastroenterologist, to try and understand how food might be impacting me.

How did Dr. Tyler's approach to supplements differ from what you tried previously?

I've tried all sorts of supplements like a lot of people have, not realizing that they have more than one effect. Oftentimes, people will tout one thing as accomplishing one goal when it, in fact, has three to five effects. By telling him what I had been doing and taking, it was very helpful to pare down what I actually need and what's actually helping me.

What did you learn from your DNA test results?

Having someone there to understand the different mutations and all that data made the difference. He explained, 'Here's some neurotransmitters and things you're good at keeping around. Here's some things you break down too fast.' I found out from a DNA test that I'm not good at GABA detection. The things I'd been taking were trying to give me more gas and energy, but if you do that too much, you can just get into negative thought patterns and become an overanalyzer.

How has your daily routine changed following the consultation?

I've quit a lot of the things I've been taking that are more uppers, I'd say like stimulant-like stuff, and I've focused more on the calming side of things. Focusing more on that has allowed me to have a more calm presence of mind and not be so damn overwhelmed by life.

Why would you recommend Dr. Tyler Panzner's services to others?

I would recommend his services because a lot of medicine these days is very generalized and like a one size fits all. This is personalized medicine. Here's your strengths and weaknesses, and it's on your DNA. That never changes; it's true for the rest of my days and potentially for my kids too. It's highly personalized, and it will hit hard for you specifically.

Frequently asked

Can I interpret my own DNA results for health optimization?

Jacob noted that if he had received his DNA results alone, he wouldn't have been able to look at them with any meaning. He found Dr. Tyler's service essential for understanding specific mutations and how they impact neurotransmitter breakdown.

Why are generic supplements not working for my brain fog?

Jacob learned that many supplements have three to five different effects rather than just one. He discovered he was 'stepping on the gas' with stimulants when his DNA actually required 'putting the foot on the brake' to support GABA detection.

Is personalized medicine better than standard medical advice for fatigue?

Jacob found standard medicine too generalized, noting that experts like gastroenterologists or general practitioners often offer 'one size fits all' solutions like SSRIs, whereas Dr. Tyler provided a plan tailored to his permanent genetic makeup.

Since working with Dr. Tyler, I've seen more improvements in just being able to take a fair evaluation of myself and where I'm at in life and where I'd like to go. I'd say life is not so overwhelming such that I cannot take a fair appraisal of myself. I don't get caught in downward thought spirals as often, and I can see my life progress picking up again. Like, here are the cycles in life. Here are my habits, here are my thoughts and patterns. Here's where it would lead me. Here's how I can change it. I'd say that's been the biggest gift of it all. Hey, good morning. My name's Jay. I'm from Denver, Colorado, and I'm thirty-one years old. I had been going through a lot of brain fog. It was the main thing, just a inability for my mind to produce thoughts of its own, which is a very tough place to be. And I'd gone to some medical experts, like a gastroenterologist, to try and understand how food might be impacting me. You know, I've tried all sorts of supplements like a lot of people have, not realizing that they have more than one effect, which is something that he goes into in depth. Oftentimes, people will tout one thing as accomplishing one goal when it, in fact, has three to five effects. And so by telling him what I had been doing and taking, it was very helpful to pare down what I actually need, what's actually helping me, what's not helping me with the lens of his knowledge. It's been very transformative. I had mentioned my ailments to s- a few of my friends and one that I had met just that day. She mentioned Dr. Tyler and showed me his Instagram and all the testimonials that he had. So I started looking into how other people have found him useful and just what a unique service that's offered. So, you know, if I got a DNA test and got the results, I wouldn't be able to look at it with any meaning. So having someone there to understand the different mutations and all that data made the difference. And just explaining to me, "Here's some neurotransmitters and things you're good at keeping around. Here's some things you break down too fast. Here's the weak points you can shore up." It's very transformative for me. The things I'd been taking were things to kind of like step on the gas pedal and try to give me more gas and more energy. But turns out if you do that too much, you can just get into negative thought patterns and just become like a overanalyzer. So kind of putting the foot on the brake a little bit, which is something that came out of a DNA test that I'm not good at GABA detection is what it is. So kind of focusing more on that has allowed me to have a more calm presence of mind and not be so damn overwhelmed by life. It's been super nice for me. I've quit a lot of the things I've been taking that are more uppers, I'd say like stimulant-like stuff, and I've focused more on the calming side of things. And I'd say the biggest thing that's come out of it is that just because you take one supplement, it can have three to five different actions on you, and just being more intentional with what I take has been very helpful. I would recommend his services because a lot of medicine these days is very generalized and like a one size fits all. Like, "Hey, you're feeling bad. Here's an SSRI." I'd say in a perfect utopian future, there's a lot of personalized medicine, which is... that's what this is. It's just personalized medicine. Here's your strengths and weaknesses, and it's on your DNA. That never changes. It's true for the rest of your life, and so it's true for the rest of my days and potentially for my kids too, right? So I'd recommend it because it's highly personalized, and it will hit hard for you specifically.
