The interview

What was your overall experience working with Shannon at Elements Real Estate Atlanta?

Overall experience, I would say would be completely satisfied. She's also just very easy to work with, right? She's a great person, and exceptionally kind and very friendly. She makes it as enjoyable as that stressful experience possibly can be.

Can you tell us about your background and how you first found Shannon?

My name is Zach Kewer. I live in Decatur, Georgia. I'm an attorney by practice and I've bought basically five properties with this agency. When my wife and I relocated from Virginia to Atlanta, we did a lot of Google searching and Shannon had great reviews. She helped us acquire our first home in Old Fourth Ward.

How did the experience compare to previous real estate agents you have worked with?

It was a notable difference in terms of the transactional experience. First of all, she is unbelievably responsive. Her ability to guide us through that process was notably different than the experiences we'd had with prior real estate agents.

What kind of support does she provide after the transaction is finished?

She's just an unbelievable wealth of resource when it comes to all things home afterwards. All three of the homes we've purchased or sold with her have gone through fairly extensive remodels, and her wealth of knowledge relative to contractors and anyone else you need home related is great. It wasn't as if once the transaction closed, she disappeared into the night.

Can you share an example of her providing technical insight during a home tour?

I remember the first house we bought, we were under contract and Shannon showed up as we were going through the inspection and was like, 'hey guys, look at the grade of this portion of the backyard. This is going to result in water issues.' It was that kind of insight and willingness to express her opinion and tell you things that maybe you're not thinking of as a homebuyer.

How did she help you navigate the extremely competitive 2022 Atlanta market?

It was 2022, where the real estate market in Atlanta was exceptionally hot. People are putting in cash offers over value by very wide margins. She was the calm in the storm. She had great guidance in terms of what we thought the appropriate number was to make an offer. We had a handwritten note that we submitted with our bid, which was her idea, and the sellers said that was the thing that tipped the scales for us winning our bid.

What is your 'elevator pitch' when recommending her to friends?

I am constantly pushing people to her. My sales elevator pitch is always like, look, she is going to go above and beyond for you. She's exceptionally competent and you're going to walk away feeling like you got a really good deal.

So while you're going through one of those most stressful experiences in your life in terms of buying a home or selling a home, she's easy to work with. She makes it as enjoyable as that stressful experience possibly can be. Hi, my name is Zach Kewer. I live in Decatur, Georgia. I'm an attorney by practice and I bought basically five with this So when my wife and I relocated from Virginia to Atlanta, we were obviously looking for a home, and did a lot of Google searching and basically Shannon had great reviews. so she helped us acquire our first home in Old Fourth Ward in the city. And since then, we've worked with her for every real estate transaction we've had since we've been here. we were extremely impressed in initial purchase, And it was a notable difference in terms of the transactional experience when working with Shannon. First of all, she is unbelievably responsive. And we were, I would say, probably not the easiest clients in the world, at least initially. So our demands in terms of the number of houses we saw, we were buying in a very hot real estate market at the time. And her ability to kinda guide us through that process was notably different than the experiences we'd had with prior real estate agents. she's just an unbelievable wealth of resource when it comes to, like, all things home afterwards. And so all three of the homes we've purchased or sold with her have gone through fairly extensive remodels after having acquired the properties, and her wealth of knowledge relative to contractors and anyone else you need home related it wasn't as if once the transaction closed, she disappeared into the night, like... I'll be honest, we still text with Shannon on a regular basis, right? Like she's just kind of our friend. But she's just this unbelievable wealth of knowledge and willing to go above and beyond in terms of assisting you when it comes to anything related to the home purchase and thereafter, so... I remember the first house we bought here in Atlanta, we were under contract on a piece of property that we went through inspection with her on. we saw the house without Shannon to begin with and then Shannon showed up as we were going through the inspection and was like, "hey guys, look at the grade of this portion of the backyard. This is going to result in water issues," and things like that where we were like, man, she's absolutely right. I wish you had been here when we initially toured the property and we wouldn't have gone under contract. Now, fortunately, that transaction didn't end up going through and we ended up finding a house that we loved and it worked out. But it was that kind of insight and willingness to you know to express her opinion and tell you things that maybe you're not thinking of as a homebuyer as you're going through the process that were really surprising and refreshing, and also helped us get to a point where we found houses that we love we acquired this home at a point in time - It was 2022, where the real estate market in Atlanta was exceptionally hot. it was unbelievably stressful where you found something that you loved and people are putting in cash offers over value by very, very, very wide margins. we were - you know, so it's incredibly stressful home buying experience. And she was the calm in the storm. she had great guidance in terms of what we thought the appropriate number was to make an offer, other elements of kind of that bidding process that we think put us over the edge. For example, we had a handwritten note that we submitted with our bid for this house, which was her idea, not something that we were advocating we do. And in talking with the sellers at closing afterwards, apparently that was the thing that tipped the scales for us actually winning our bid, right? I have the utmost trust in kind of her sound judgment and guidance when it comes to evaluating markets and what you can extract from a value standpoint. again, I've seen that over, I guess at this point, five transactions with her where I've come away every time being like, yep, I got a good deal out of that. I am constantly pushing people to stand. And I know at least at least two or three of my good friends have subsequently bought or sold homes with her. And my sales elevator pitch is always like, look, she is going to go above and beyond for you. She's exceptionally competent and you're going to walk away feeling like you got a really good deal.
