The interview

Why did you hire Geobear for your repairs?

We hired Geobear because it was a guaranteed system. It was quick to carry out the repairs and it was very cost effective.

What issues were you experiencing with the property before hiring Geobear?

We had issues with the extension that was recently constructed; it was actually settling relative to the original building, which was presenting with cracks that were basically getting bigger every year, although there was some closure and seasonal movements of a big closure in the winter and widening in the summer. It's classic subsidence as a result of clay subsoil and inadequate foundation.

What other repair options did you consider?

We looked at mini piling and also mass concrete. But the Geobear was considered the best option, thinking it was so fast. It wasn't particularly cheap for the mass concrete underpinning, but it was a lot faster. And because of the extension we've built up to the boundary, access to the adjacent property land was an issue.

How long did the actual repair process take?

They were there to solve the problem in one day. It's less than a day to actually do the full treatment from setup to completion.

What preparation work was required on your part?

The prep work we basically had to do was allow access to some of the deafening at the bar. We had to carry out some initial checks on drainage and that sort of thing and inform the neighbors that we were going to require access to their property.

Would you recommend Geobear to others?

I highly recommend Geobear because the solutions are cost effective and it's very quick to carry out the repair and minimal disruption to the property.
