“Working with GoGetMade has taken the stress and uncertainty out of the process of going from concept to product.”
“We went from three-D model of a product to we have inventory on hand, and we have completed manufactured products in customers' hands.”
“If you're selling a physical product, nothing matters... if you can't actually build and ship that physical product to people, and that was just a huge gap in our capability.”
The interview
What is your name and what does your company do?
My name is Braden Stepchuk, and I'm co-founder of Cooler Technologies, and we make a palm cooling device, which is a fitness product that helps athletes to recover faster and perform better.
What stage was your product at before you started working with GO Get Made?
We were at the tail end of design process. So we had worked with some contracted firms, and we were building out the industrial, mechanical, and electrical design for our product. We were in the process of looking for partners that could help us bring from concept and three-D model into the real world.
What were your primary concerns or hesitations before starting the manufacturing process?
I was pretty hesitant about the entire process. This is my first time starting a company and building a product. So going from idea and concept and design to a physical product that's manufactured, I had no idea of where to start or how to do that. It's just a whole another world where you really have no idea what's going on, and there's so many steps from start to finish and so many nuances.
How did GO Get Made help you navigate the transition from design to production?
They were fantastic all the way through, just walking through the basics with them. We were able to crawl, walk, run as far as how do we actually get this started. They helped with design modifications to make it more suitable for manufacturing, getting prototypes, testing, and feedback, all the way to helping me travel overseas to visit the factory and meet the staff.
What tangible results have you seen since partnering with them?
We went from three-D model of a product to we have inventory on hand, and we have completed manufactured products in customers' hands and getting great feedback and reviews. We're already working with them on subsequent production runs and making further design modifications and tweaks.
How has this partnership impacted your confidence in scaling the business?
This partnership has definitely given us and me personally a lot more confidence in our ability to scale because these are core competencies and experience that we did not have. We have complete faith that as we want to scale up to larger volumes and newer products, they're going to be able to help us with everything from component sourcing to supply chain, importing, and exporting.
What is it like working with the GO Get Made team on a personal level?
The people are great. It makes it just so much easier working with them. Responsive, down to earth, just good people doing good work. Shout out to Eric and Joe and Ivan.
