The interview

What is your name and what does your company do?

My name is Braden Stepchuk, and I'm co-founder of Cooler Technologies, and we make a palm cooling device, which is a fitness product that helps athletes to recover faster and perform better.

What stage was your product at before you started working with GO Get Made?

We were at the tail end of design process. So we had worked with some contracted firms, and we were building out the industrial, mechanical, and electrical design for our product. We were in the process of looking for partners that could help us bring from concept and three-D model into the real world.

What were your primary concerns or hesitations before starting the manufacturing process?

I was pretty hesitant about the entire process. This is my first time starting a company and building a product. So going from idea and concept and design to a physical product that's manufactured, I had no idea of where to start or how to do that. It's just a whole another world where you really have no idea what's going on, and there's so many steps from start to finish and so many nuances.

How did GO Get Made help you navigate the transition from design to production?

They were fantastic all the way through, just walking through the basics with them. We were able to crawl, walk, run as far as how do we actually get this started. They helped with design modifications to make it more suitable for manufacturing, getting prototypes, testing, and feedback, all the way to helping me travel overseas to visit the factory and meet the staff.

What tangible results have you seen since partnering with them?

We went from three-D model of a product to we have inventory on hand, and we have completed manufactured products in customers' hands and getting great feedback and reviews. We're already working with them on subsequent production runs and making further design modifications and tweaks.

How has this partnership impacted your confidence in scaling the business?

This partnership has definitely given us and me personally a lot more confidence in our ability to scale because these are core competencies and experience that we did not have. We have complete faith that as we want to scale up to larger volumes and newer products, they're going to be able to help us with everything from component sourcing to supply chain, importing, and exporting.

What is it like working with the GO Get Made team on a personal level?

The people are great. It makes it just so much easier working with them. Responsive, down to earth, just good people doing good work. Shout out to Eric and Joe and Ivan.

Working with GoGetMade has taken the stress and uncertainty out of the process of going from concept to product, especially for those who have not gone through that process. My name is Braden Stepchuk, and I'm co-founder of Cooler Technologies, and we make a palm cooling device, which is a fitness product that helps athletes to recover faster and perform better. Before we started working with GoGetMade, we were at the tail end of design process. So we had worked with some contracted firms, and we were building out the industrial, mechanical, and electrical design for our product. And we were in the process of looking for partners that could help us bring from concept and three-D model into the real world, a tangible product, all the way from finalizing design, design for manufacturing, cleaning up a lot of the details to full-on prototyping, testing, and then sourcing components, factories, and getting to the point where you have a finalized finished product that can show up at a customer's doorstep. Before working with GoGetMade, I was pretty hesitant about the entire process. This is my first time starting a company and building a product. So going from idea and concept and design to a physical product that's manufactured, I had no idea of where to start or how to do that. I had been shopping around a little bit at different manufacturing partners and different contractors that could help us, both domestically in the US as well as overseas. And it's, it's just a whole another world where you really have no idea what's going on, and there's so many steps from start to finish and so many nuances and relationships, and it's incredible. With each layer of complexity adds another ten layers. And so there was a lot of uncertainty and not knowing how we're gonna get from A to B. And fortunately, we were looking around at different partners at the time, and we came across GoGetMade and the team with Eric and Joe, and we had a few conversations with them, and they had a lot of experience helping people in our situation who are first times trying to figure out how do we accomplish this thing and go from here to there. And they've done it many times, and they were fantastic all the way through, just walking through the basics with them. And so we were able to kind of crawl, walk, run as far as how do we actually get this started, what does it look like, and all the way through making some design modifications to make it more suitable for manufacturing to actually getting prototypes and testing and feedback, all the way to the end where they helped me go travel overseas, visit the factory, meet with all the staff and the people that are working on our product, and we've now got product out the door and in customers' hands, and they've been the ones driving the bus for a lot of that. Since working with GoGetMade, we went from three-D model of a product to we have inventory on hand, and we have completed manufactured products in customers' hands and getting great feedback and reviews, and we're already working with them on subsequent production runs and making further design modifications and tweaks and looking into how can we take what we've accomplished with getting from zero to one to now how do we go from one to ten and begin to scale up. This partnership has definitely given us and me personally a lot more confidence in our ability to scale because these are core competencies and experience that we did not have and I certainly did not have experience with. So having a partner and teammates that we can trust and that have proven that they can help us accomplish from zero to one. So we have complete faith that working with Eric and Joe and Ivan and the whole team that as the next stage in the business comes and as we wanna scale up to larger volumes and then newer products and increased complexity, we have no doubts that they're gonna be able to help us, everything from component sourcing, design modifications, manufacturing, all the way through supply chain, importing, exporting. GoGetMade has been fantastic, and they've been proactive with helping us address these issues. And one of the great things with working about working with them is they have staff, Ivan, for example, that's able to get to the factory and get hands-on. They have helped us with a massive part of our business that we really didn't have the experience and knowledge because if you're selling a physical product, nothing matters. It's all mostly irrelevant if you can't actually build and ship that physical product to people, and that was just a huge gap in our capability. And they've been awesome, and I trust them completely with what we're doing and really excited to keep growing with them as we go to bigger and better things. I would just say I'd give a shout-out to Eric and Joe and Ivan. The people are great. It makes it just so much easier working with them. Responsive, down to earth, just good people doing good work. So shout out to the people behind the team.
