Rebecca Dobrzynski achieved a 62-pound weight loss through Jennifer Powter’s Weight Loss Academy, dropping from 222 to 160 pounds. By focusing on the psychological triggers behind eating rather than restrictive dieting, she transitioned from extreme 250-calorie diets to a sustainable lifestyle of weight maintenance, improved confidence, and a healthy relationship with food.

The interview

What was your experience with dieting prior to joining the Powter Weight Loss Academy?

Prior to working with the Powter Weight Loss Academy, I could safely say that I have tried almost every diet out there. I have tried Weight Watchers in person, Weight Watchers online. I have tried HCG, eaten 250 calories a day for over six weeks. I have done the cabbage soup diet. I had given myself injections. I have done intermittent fasting. I have done Noom.

How did you find Jennifer Powter and why did you choose her program?

I found the Powter Weight Loss Academy through sheer luck. I had this upcoming event that I was really concerned about my appearance and I said, what am I going to do to lose like, 20 pounds in the next three weeks? I was Googling things like 'health coach,' 'macro coaches,' et cetera, and Jennifer's website came up. What made me choose it was the combination of coaching and group discussions with a real meal plan where you're eating real food.

What made you hesitate initially to begin the program?

A lot of times when I went on a weight loss journey previously, I hid it from my husband. Imagine trying to hide from your family that you're only eating 250 calories a day or giving yourself stomach injections every day. I didn't feel worthy of an investment in me just based on my track record.

What surprised you most about the Weight Loss Academy?

What surprised me most is how little we talk about food. The first month you are relearning what is the purpose of food in your life, how you should think about food, and what is the amount of food that you need and why you need it. It's not about the food. It's the thing under the thing that triggers you to eat more or drink more than you need.

What specific results have you achieved since starting?

When I started the Weight Loss Academy, I was 222 pounds. I'm now 160 pounds. I've lost 62 pounds. I'm in weight maintenance. I trust myself around food. I feel greater in my skin and it's given me the courage to go back to the gym and seek out that part of my life.

How is this weight loss experience different from your previous attempts?

I don't feel like there's an endpoint that I'm like, oh, if I just get to 'this day' for 'this wedding' then I can be normal again. Because this is my normal. I actually feel better than I've ever felt, stronger, more capable. I never question myself if it's going to last, because this is how I want to feel every day.

Frequently asked

Is the Jennifer Powter Weight Loss Academy worth the investment?

Rebecca initially hesitated because her history of failed diets made her feel unworthy of the investment. However, she found that the combination of accountability, real food, and psychological coaching provided a permanent solution she couldn't achieve alone.

Do I have to follow a restrictive diet with Jennifer Powter?

No, Rebecca noted that she did not have to cut out any food categories and was surprised by how little the program focused on the food itself. Instead, it focused on the 'thing under the thing' that triggers overeating.

Can I maintain weight loss after the program ends?

Rebecca reports that she is currently in maintenance and no longer feels like there is an 'endpoint' to her diet. She feels stronger and more capable, stating she never questions if the results will last because this is her new normal.
