The interview

What made you want to participate in the Active Voyage Retreat?

I'd been kind of in a weird funk, I guess. And my friend runs a Ketamine clinic out in Scottsdale, actually two, and he was the one who actually recommended me to Jordanna.

How would you describe your overall experience at the retreat?

I had a really fantastic experience. I did find it to be definitely rewarding, and I'm sure I'm going to plan to do more after this.

What were the first realizations you had following the retreat?

The first kind of things that kind of popped out to me were the need for compassion. Immediately I thought of a friend who we had a falling out, I guess you would call it, and I just messaged her immediately and I just said, 'hey, how are you doing?' And she instantly apologized for what happened.

How has your perspective on relationships changed since the retreat?

I've noticed maybe I used to have a bit of an emotional wall, maybe didn't always express my appreciation and gratitude for people as much as I should have. And so I've tried to consciously make an effort to do that more. For me, that was really what I got the most out of it.

What did you think about the size and diversity of the group?

It was a perfect size, so that you felt like you could be open but not so small. I feel like we had a very different and diverse group as well. We all came from kind of different walks of life and different age groups, so it was a really cool dynamic.

Was there anything about the retreat that surprised you?

The thing that really I did not expect was how much knowledge I would be gaining because Jordanna's a Functional Medicine Doctor. I really appreciated all the conversations that we were having surrounding things, not just about Ketamine, but about functional medicine.
