The interview
Can you summarize your experience with Lower The Dose?
If I had to just summarize my experience is that it's life-changing. It's life-changing to have someone really like sit you down, figure out what's wrong, and go from there and solve your problems versus just going in and being thrown another medication.
What is your background and health history?
My name is Samantha Martin. I'm located in Folsom, California, and I work in sales for a living. I've been type one for 15 years, diabetic, and I've been to, like, lots of endocrinologists and they oftentimes just like, look at my numbers and whatever.
What happened during your first appointment with Dr. Rangi?
First appointment with her, like I came in and I was like, here are my numbers, here are all my stats. And she like, sat me down, and started asking me, you know, different questions. I mean, I wasn't getting my period for like years and years. And she was like, 'we need to address this. we don't need to address just your numbers.'
What specific health outcomes did you achieve?
She kind of coached me through what changes needed to be made, just taking me down the list and taking me off some of these medications I had been for so long. And I was able to kind of regain my cycle back and get my hormones in check and just feel a lot better.
What surprised you most about the practice?
What surprised me the most was how thorough everything was, truly. Like, she really goes through everything. She double checks everything. And her office is really good at keeping you in the loop, too, about everything that's going on and keeping you like, informed.
How did Dr. Rangi help you manage your medications?
Dr. Rangi really, like, empowered me to kind of like let go of some of these things that like I didn't need that I had been given by so many other doctors years before. Those medications were causing me so many more problems that I didn't even know. Really the biggest impact was just being able to start over.
How do you feel now compared to before?
It was able to make my health so much better, hormones so much, like, better. And that made my head so much clearer. You have no idea the things that feel better after you get these things in check.
Would you recommend Dr. Rangi to others?
I've actually recommended Dr. Rangi to a lot of people. My fiance actually goes to Dr. Rangi too. I trust her wholeheartedly. I recommend her to my family members. I just know that she'll take care of them.
Frequently asked
Will this endocrinologist just look at my blood sugar numbers?
Samantha Martin expected another doctor who would only look at her stats, but found Dr. Rangi focused on her overall well-being. Dr. Rangi looked beyond the numbers to address long-term issues like her missing menstrual cycle and medication side effects.
Can I reduce my medications if I have had diabetes for a long time?
Yes, Samantha Martin had been a diabetic for 15 years and was able to stop taking several medications that were causing more problems than they solved. Dr. Rangi empowered her to let go of unnecessary prescriptions to improve her health and mental clarity.
Is the Lower The Dose method thorough and easy to follow?
Samantha Martin noted that the process was extremely thorough and everything was set out in a clean, easy-to-follow path. She highlighted that the office keeps patients informed and in the loop throughout the entire treatment process.
