The interview
Who are you and where are you from?
Jennifer Richards. Dallas, Texas.
How did you view yourself before coming to 40 Years of Zen?
The perspective that I viewed myself through, when I came in this week I felt like I was looking at myself from the outside in, almost not in my body. All from a place of judgment and from my brain.
How do you feel now that you are leaving?
Leaving, I feel like I am looking into myself from the inside. Like, looking into my eyes in a mirror versus at myself. Like my brain is actually functioning with my emotions and living inside of my body.
What did you discover about your life's purpose during the week?
Everything is love - that can be enough. There doesn't have to be some fancy, unique higher purpose. I really am just 'love.' That is my purpose. And that I can execute that in my life just step by step.
How has your approach to daily interactions changed?
I'm committed to showing up as love and viewing things through a different lens. Every step, every stimulus, every interaction is met from what would love do and meeting that in courage and authenticity.
What are you releasing as a result of this experience?
Releasing the idea of rules that are just meant for control and that feel stifling and small. Trading that for freedom through love.
