The interview
Can you introduce yourself and your professional background?
My name is Christi Alsop. I'm a doctor of oriental medicine, and I practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I've been in brick-and-mortar practice for 30 years now.
What is your vision for the health industry and your patients?
My vision for the health industry is to help one person at a time on their healing journey. I love seeing people in my practice. I love helping them get healthier and better and stronger every day and just to help each person so they can go out and live their best life possible.
How do you define your role as a practitioner?
I'm a health facilitator. So, I do acupuncture, of course, in my practice. But I really see myself as a facilitator in their journey. Acupuncture is a part of it. Herbs, supplements, diet, of course. In my practice, I like to talk about the six pillars.
What has your experience been like at this event/program?
It's been super inspiring to be here. I've appreciated everything that they have to offer. It's giving me a new vision for new life—what's possible for me as a practitioner.
What specific goals are you looking to achieve now?
I'm looking at what's new. How can I expand my practice? How can I reach more people? Can I expand online? And they were very inspiring and very helpful, and I'm so excited to be here.
Who would you recommend this to?
I would recommend it for acupuncturist. I would recommend it for even some of my patients. Just come in and see what they're doing, and not only for health practitioners but also in the detox world. Because it's super, super important.
What is the 'new model of medicine' you mentioned?
They would really have a better understanding of the new model of medicine that we're looking to create. And find ways to support it. And to support other practitioners in looking at this new model that we're wanting to create as practitioners and as forward-thinking practitioners.
