The interview

What specific physical results have you seen since working with Shae?

Since working with Shae, I've lost about 10 pounds in total. Which, again, those were, kind of, the stubborn ones that I wanted to get off and I've kept them off. But more than that, I have a lot more energy. I'm actually sleeping through the night.

What symptoms were you experiencing before you started the program?

I had a variety of symptoms. I had gained weight, I was not feeling—I just didn't feel like myself. I wasn't sleeping well, I had a lack of energy, I was just... not feeling well on a daily basis and I felt like there had to be something different. I didn't know what it was, I didn't know why it was happening and I just really didn't have a lot of support from other doctors.

What impressed you about Shae Leonard during your initial research?

I happened to see something that Shae had posted online and really started to do some research on her and her background. I was really impressed with the amount of education and thoughtfulness. I reached out to her just to get some more information and I felt very supported and very informed about what the process might look like.

How does Shae's background in traditional medicine impact the coaching?

She shares her own personal journey as well, which I think is really inspiring. She's been in your shoes before and I think it makes all the difference to know that someone who was in traditional medicine understands all of that.

What role did mindset and stress management play in your transformation?

Shae has a huge emphasis on mindset and I think that has been critical in understanding those impacts that stress really has and helping me figure out how to manage that the best I can. She is realistic, too. Life is going to throw lots of things at us, but I was able to really take the tips and tricks and guidance from her and really improve how I was feeling.

How do you feel about your ability to maintain these results long-term?

I think I've learned so much in the last six months. It's like night and day of what I understand about myself and my body and the things that I can do to heal myself. I am very quickly able to, like, diagnose for myself now too. Like, okay, I slipped up here or I haven't been focusing on my mindset as much, and just really thinking about what did I learn and how do I continue to apply that.

What would you say to someone considering this investment?

We're so conditioned that traditional medicine is the answer, but I found myself really just wondering, like, why am I taking these medicines when I still don't feel great? I think it was worth every bit of investment in the time and money. I feel like I've learned so much more than I did in years of trying to work with traditional medicine.

Frequently asked

Is investing in non-traditional medicine worth the cost?

Melissa Stevens initially found it different to invest in herself this way compared to traditional medicine, but concluded it was worth every bit of investment in time and money because she learned more in six months than in years of traditional care.

Can I maintain health goals during busy life events?

Yes. Melissa noted that even when her son graduated and work was busy during her six-month program, Shae's realistic 'tips and tricks' allowed her to improve her daily well-being despite external stressors.

How does Shae Leonard Wellness differ from traditional doctors?

Melissa felt traditional medicine often just prescribed pills without results. Shae Leonard Wellness focuses on the 'root cause' and mindset, helping clients understand the 'why' behind their symptoms to facilitate actual healing.

Since working with Shae, I've lost about 10 pounds in total. Which, again, those were, kind of, the stubborn ones that I wanted to get off and I've kept them off. But more than that, I have a lot more energy. I'm actually sleeping through the night. I understand again kind of what I should be eating, why I should be eating it. I had a variety of symptoms. I had gained weight, I was not feeling - I just didn't feel like myself. I wasn't sleeping well, I had a lack of energy, I was just... not feeling well on a daily basis and I felt like there had to be something different I didn't know what it was, I didn't know why it was happening and I just really didn't have a lot of support from other doctors or other individuals that I had spoken with around what could be going on and how to fix it. So, I happened to see something that Shae had posted online and really started to do some research on, kind of, her and her background and what, you know, she was sharing and just was really impressed with the amount of education and thoughtfulness. So, I reached out to her just to get some more information and I felt very supported and very informed about what the process might look like and how it would be working with her. And just felt like it was a great opportunity to invest in myself and spend some time thinking about how to get feeling better again. She shares her own personal journey as well, which I think is... really inspiring. She's been in your shoes before and I think it makes all the difference to know that someone who was in traditional medicine and understands all of that. I think I've always known that stress is such a huge factor but Shae has a huge emphasis on mindset and I think that has been critical in understanding those impacts that stress really has and helping me figure out how to manage that the best I can. But what I also appreciated is, she is realistic, too. That, like, life is going to throw lots of things at us. And so, through the six months my son graduated, I had lot going on at work. But I was able to really take the tips and tricks and guidance from her and really improve how I was feeling on a day-to-day basis. I think I've learned so much in the last six months. It's like night and day of what I understand about myself and my body and the things that I can do to heal myself and to keep feeling great and to, kind of, move forward from there. And what I really enjoy is, I can talk about it with other people, too, and help them understand a few things that would be helpful to them or at least why I'm doing the things that I am. I think, generally, it's just been really great. Feeling better, understanding, again, the education that I received and understanding the 'why' behind some of the symptoms that I was having. And being very quickly able to, like, diagnose for myself now too. Like, okay, I slipped up here or I, you know, haven't been focusing on my mindset as much. I've been letting some of the stress get to me. And just really thinking about okay, what did I learn and how do I continue to apply that and move forward from here? So, one, I understand it is different to invest in yourself in this type of way. We're so conditioned that traditional medicine is - is the answer and that you should just go take this medicine or do that thing. But I found myself really just wondering, like, why am I taking these medicines when I still don't feel great? And I feel like with this kind of approach that Shae has is really, again, to the root cause. I think it makes all the difference in the world because you can actually understand why you should do something and you can take the steps that are going to help you heal and they're not hard. It's just different, right? And it just takes a moment to consider what do you want for your future? For me, I wanted to make sure that I was healthy for a long life and feeling great again. And I think it was worth every bit of investment in the time and money. I feel like I've learned so much more than I did in years of trying to work with traditional medicine. And I think there's a time and place for traditional medicine still, of course. But I think this type of program really helps you see that there are other ways that you can heal your body. And Shae really can help guide you to understand the benefits and the opportunities and how you can really heal yourself. Hi, I'm Melissa Stevens and I'm based in Fort Worth, Texas.
