Discovering a New Level of Intimacy and Shared Purpose Beyond Expectations

Speaker 1: Attending summit of love is the realization that it could be even better. We've done a lot of work over the years. We joke that we went from a difficult but worth it early relationship as opposed to difficult and run fast. It was a difficult but worth it. And we elevated ourselves through lots of work that we both did and Annie especially, I think, had done. And we got ourselves to a place of easy and. Which has felt beautiful. So the summit of love, though what it did for a marriage is shows that there's a next level, that there's a next level above and beyond what we had imagined. And secretly I had imagined some of these things on my. In my fantasy world. It was already so great. Like it was too much to ask, right? And so I think what surprised me was the realization and finding that it could be even better. And Annie wanted to try and I wanted to try. Speaker 2: I definitely didn't think it could get better. I mean, this is for sure the best I ever had. And I didn't realize that David had some breakthroughs he was going to get. And those were kind of a total delightful surprise. And we've come out at this, the summit of love, even stronger, like just. And more positive, like, we can still grow and that's exciting. My biggest takeaway was that there were still things I didn't know about my partner that we got to uncover that were really great, including that he still has, like, kind of wants and desires that I really didn't know and. And that are easy to give. So that was a huge discovery for us. Speaker 1: Huge. Yeah. Super huge for me. It was amazing. I would say 1 of the big takeaways, there were so many. But I would say 1 of the ones that was most surprising to me is Annie was the driver of going to the summit of love. She was the 1 who encouraged it. And I try to be open to different things, but there were so many different couples there from different religious beliefs, from different spiritual. Spiritual backgrounds, from different. All kinds of differences. And I thought, I don't know how. How safe is that going to feel for everybody? How, you know, I had these. These questions. And I was. I was actually really amazed how well we connected to all the couples and found them all exceptional, found them all sincere and open to both hearing our fears and concerns and joys, but how readily everyone was so excited for breakthroughs in other couples and the learnings that you could get watching other couples go through things too. It was amazing. Speaker 2: Some really wise people that have been in relationship even longer than us, which was awesome. That was probably the most surprising thing to me about the summit of love was the diversity of the couples and how much that mattered. Well, how much it mattered to actually be enriching. Speaker 1: Yes. Speaker 2: Like you could have. There were so many different perspectives and so many different situations that somebody was going to be similar to you and somebody was going to be very different. And we thought it was great. Speaker 1: Oh, and age differences. I mean, there was a good foil for 40, 45 year age difference between youngest to oldest. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: There were a lot of very pleasant surprises. All the people were just amazing. I would love to socialize with any of the couples met there outside of summit of blood, which I didn't necessarily expect. So it was really beautiful. Yeah. To save why 1 should attend the summit of love. I'm just going to say that I didn't see a single couple that didn't come away with value add with a higher understanding of what it means to be a couple, how to achieve being a better couple. You know, for us, it's like there's really no amount of money that would have been overspent to get the results that we had out of the summit of love. And we thought we went in a good place. Yeah. Speaker 2: So already when I talk to some of my best couples friends, I'm already telling them that. That they should really super consider attending this because there's just so much more available as a couple than I even realized. Like we, you know, 1 of the things we learned is that our. We have a couple's entity and that it has its own purpose, has its own vision of what it should do in the world. It was awesome. I just never felt thought in terms of the frames that they used at the summit of love. And it's like learning something you can't unlearn. Like, you know, it's just. It sort of changes our future just because we attended. It was great. Speaker 1: Yeah.
