The interview
What has your experience been like with the Gentle Sleep community?
So, from my time being with the Gentle Sleep community, I have found it to be very supportive. In this line of work we are all over the world, we are all located separately and we do communicate virtually. Even with that it can help me remind myself of what it is like for moms.
How does the community help you professionally?
Not only are we able to network and have our own little friendly community, it's the ongoing research and webinars and staying current on all things regarding sleep and education. That's what helps me feel like I really am doing my best.
What specific educational opportunities are provided during and after training?
With this community, I am very, very happy that even throughout the training and as an ongoing part of our education, we have the opportunity to be taught directly from some of the biggest experts in research, in baby development and lactation so basically all things regarding what families can be dealing with.
How do you feel about your title as a Gentle Sleep Coach?
I am very, very proud to be a Gentle Sleep Coach and I have no problem telling everybody about that. And within my other community, as being a postpartum doula, I like to spread the word that I am a Gentle Sleep Coach.
Why did you choose the Kim West method specifically?
Through my own research of learning all things 'sleep,' way back years ago when I did that, I found that Kim West method was actually the best. I am very proud and happy that I got to take the training and that I also got to meet her.
