The interview

What motivated you to participate in the Aboutly training?

I wanted to do the Aboutly training because I've never really felt understood for my whole life. And as part of that, I also like to understand other people and what I have found is sometimes in my pursuit of understanding other people, a side effect is I come to understand something about myself.

How does this training compare to other self-assessments you have done?

I've been somebody who has done multiple self-assessments - Myers Briggs, etc. This Aboutly training has so much nuance to it so you don't walk away finding yourself being put into a box. It's so easy to want to label someone something and you really can't do that because there are so many ways in which their behavior can be influenced and it's not 'labelable.'

How are you applying the Aboutly training to your professional life?

At work I now understand with even more granularity what my purpose is and why where I currently am is no longer a fit for me. And what I need to be looking for, which is a place to support my outcomes-driven nature.

In what ways has the training impacted your personal relationships?

In terms of personal relationships it will help me to determine the kind of person that I should be dating. And then I also picked up on some dynamics within my family. Not conflicts but communication style differences that - especially with my mother - that I'm going to step back and look at that and how I can approach that differently so we can have a deeper connection.

What is the primary reason someone should attend the Love Immersion?

The reason to go to the Love Immersion is you will be around people who will make you feel so loved and special. And you also feel a sense of community. You'll be around people who have your back, who want to see you shine and to teach you and then they can also measure your success.
