Published Author Featured on TMZ Live and Secured Keynote Speaking Opportunities

Well, an immediate outcome was I was featured on TMZ Live - a national platform. It was an incredible opportunity. A lot of other press and media attention I got as a result. Some opportunities as far as keynote speaking. And I'm now a professor at an award winning college. And, of course, that has to do with my own endeavors in past and legacy but being a published author, I'm sure, didn't hurt. My name is Brandon Lee and I'm the author of Community Conscious Policing: A Guide for People's Justice and Law Enforcement Solutions. I was working as a professional in higher education. During the time there was a lot of, I would say, turmoil between community and law enforcement around the country. I had students who were impacted and when I grew up in Oakland, California, I had been through similar circumstances. I was a new father, new family man, and it was important that I use my skills to contribute to try to bridge some of the gaps between community and law enforcement. I had experience with a self-publisher prior to this effort. And to be honest, I think I just was doing my research and came across Book Launchers and took my time, my due diligence to look into them. My first consultation, there were some insights that were shared about my first book that I didn't even know about, that wasn't brought to my attention while working with other publishers, So their competency in the field is what intrigued me. Bringing those insights to light. As an educator, I always want to be a part of making sure that my scholarship is well-documented and people receive the credit that they deserve. So that was an immediate hook for me. That the team I was dealing with had my best interest at heart. They definitely had a track record, a positive legacy of helping authors like me, so that was beneficial. And they earned my trust. As an author and delivering a vision that I had for quite some time but articulating my story was difficult. Knowing what jewels would be helpful for the reader, I needed some support with. And to reach the level of audience that I was looking for. I needed someone that had some cultural proficiency. Some historical background, really that technical expertise when it came to writing a published work. This endeavor is an investment into yourself as an author. There are deadlines and there are moving parts and each part needs something done from the other part in order to move forward. And so Book Launchers was useful in helping me, not only stay on track, but really to maximize each phase from the creative work to then, the technical pieces. If you really want to be able to remain in your creative artist space, you need a credible, competent team that can really wrap around you and provide the level of insight and also critique to help bring your vision into fruition. Well, an immediate outcome And then I would say several months into the process, I did have a big hiccup. We had begun with a co-author at the time and it is a process to be endured. If it's not the right time in your life, if you have challenges going on - I had just had twins. So, challenges do arise. But I think after a couple of months, it was the Book Launchers team who provided all the resources that I needed to continue on and actually bring the book to life. So without it, I don't know if I would have gotten the book published had I not had a team like Book Launchers to rely on.
