The interview
What was your situation before joining Fab Fertile?
I was doing rounds of IVF. I started at age 38, and being in a same-sex couple, I was confident we'd produce a healthy embryo. In my first cycle, I had almost 20 eggs but ended with only one healthy embryo. I got pregnant but unfortunately miscarried at 9 or 10 weeks, and my doctor gave me no reason other than 'bad luck.'
What led you to finally join the program?
After a second unsuccessful round of IVF with no healthy embryos, I knew my insurance only had one more round. I was starting to feel the clock and the pressure. I decided to go all in with Fab Fertile to know that I tried everything I possibly could for my last chance.
What specific changes did you implement through the program?
I adapted a plan based on individualized test results into my daily life, including my eating, walking, and mental state. I now look at labels and find a balance for my lifestyle, knowing how to handle things like gluten or cocktails while maintaining my health.
Was there a specific turning point or discovery during the process?
My coach, Marika, asked me to do a microbiome test that cost about $140. I was hesitant, but the results showed I had silent bacteria in my vaginal microbiome. This gave me an answer for my previous miscarriage that doctors couldn't provide. She gave me a new set of supplements that shifted my microbiome, and I truly think that's why the embryo stuck this time.
What is the ultimate result of your work with Fab Fertile?
Since joining Fab Fertile, I am very blessed to have a healthy baby boy that was born almost four months ago. I truly believe he is here because of the work I did with them.
Why would you recommend Fab Fertile to others?
They are the other set of voices and ears that can give you the functional answer to what the doctors can't give you. They let you dig deeper to try to change things rather than just accepting a diagnosis. They give you all the tools to put you in the best position to create a positive outcome.
Frequently asked
Is functional fertility testing worth the extra cost during IVF?
Nicole was initially hesitant about additional testing, but found a $140 microbiome test recommended by Fab Fertile to be the turning point. The test revealed silent bacteria that her doctors hadn't identified, which she believes was the key to her successful pregnancy.
Can Fab Fertile help if IVF has already failed?
Yes, Nicole joined Fab Fertile after two unsuccessful IVF rounds and a miscarriage. She used their data-driven approach to optimize her health for her final insurance-covered round, which resulted in a healthy birth.
How does Fab Fertile differ from standard IVF clinics?
Nicole noted that Fab Fertile provides a 'functional answer' that doctors often miss. While her doctors labeled her miscarriage as 'bad luck,' Fab Fertile used individualized testing to find underlying biological reasons for the failure.
