The interview

What has been the biggest impact of the GIST program for you?

The biggest impact, I think has been the group meeting and then the breakout rooms. Meeting with a group of like-minded people who put and emphasize the same values I think was a pretty significant second game changer for me.

How did GIST change your perspective on entrepreneurial priorities?

When you're going through this entrepreneurial world, it can be really easy to prioritize things like KPIs and finances. What I actually really hold as higher values and virtues are really the deeper connections and kind of the soulful, meaningful connections with people and purpose.

How did the purpose statement exercise help you?

The purpose statement was really helpful. It was grounding. I think if I'd have done it again, I would have actually probably tied it maybe like written it at the top of the pages or something for each day or each week to try and make it more of grounding pull for me.

What did you notice about the daily practice and consistency?

The daily just practice was a super helpful thing. I noticed, probably most drastically when I was traveling. I tended to slack off because I just get off schedule and off kilter, and there was a pretty significant difference in focus from those days.

Can you share a specific result or 'synchronicity' that occurred during the process?

One of the synchronicities was very specifically like a new home. I found this new home in a subdivision I was looking for. I tried to go make a purchase, and it was declined. The circumstances were just wrong. So I made that my goal. Within two months that came back around and the exact same offer was accepted and ended up moving in.

How would you describe the shift in your goal-setting process?

It was a beautiful, beautiful step for me and my family. It was very, very clearly a shift in the focus and I guess the efficiency in which manifestation or goal setting would happen.

What kept you coming back to the sessions?

The weekly calls were the quintessential point that made me continue with attendance, time. It was just a great group of like-minded comrades.
