The interview

Who are you and what does your agency do?

My name is Greg. I'm with Pansy Home Care. We're a home care agency based in Connecticut, and we specifically focus on families and individuals who are supporting and living with dementia.

What was your initial experience with HomeCareSales?

We were with Home Care Sales last year, and that was my introduction to Melanie. And it was such a great program that our entire business development department went through it.

What was your biggest fear before starting the program?

My biggest fear was seeing if my skill set, my techniques, would translate into this new market. And we were able to tackle that fear through what Melanie has set up through her program.

How did the program materials help you in the field?

It was able to help guide me step by step to build that confidence and reassurance through the handouts that she provided, the speaking points that the handouts encouraged. So it really walked us through point A to point B in order to close on a referral.

What was your impression of the program's content and energy?

My impression of the Home Care Sales Program was intensive. The online program goes into a lot of detail, with a lot of recordings showing you possible scenarios and walkthroughs. We got pure positive energy every time we met on a weekly basis.

What specific sales strategy did you learn for referral partners?

One thing that I learned in the field specifically was to, for each referral partner, really identify their pain points, really be able to speak to how we can be an advantage to them, and become a partner to them.

What were your most significant successes after the training?

My biggest successes were being able to break through into hospitals and start getting referrals. Building that confidence in me and getting those repetitions in; certain 'nos' or certain pivots from conversations compiled with what Melanie's taught us, I was able to come back even stronger.
