The interview

Who are you and what is your role within the industry?

I am Patti Hyde and I am the Senior Director of Best Practices and Compliance for the Home Care Association of Florida. I get to interact with home care sales regularly through our webinars, our conferences, and all of the many events that we offer for the home care industry here in Florida.

What is the current competitive landscape for home care in Florida?

Here in the state of Florida, we are a very competitive market. There are many different home care business models and many home care providers. With home care or home health agencies alone, we're probably just about 2,200 home care agencies, not including nurse registries, homemaker, and companion companies.

What are the primary challenges home care providers face regarding growth?

The ability to obtain referrals, make referral sources happy, and make them repeat referral sources can be a challenge for many providers. That's typically the question or the concerns that we'll hear in relation to marketing and referrals.

How long have you been working with HomeCareSales?

I first had the pleasure of interacting with HCS back when I started with the association as far back as 15 years ago. And I've been interacting with them ever since, throughout the many events that we offer.

In what capacity does the association utilize HomeCareSales?

We have our annual conference that HCS is typically involved in, as well as many times we will look to tap HCS for various webinars on topics related to home care marketing and sales. Whenever a question comes up related to home care, sales and marketing, HCS is always top of mind for me as an industry leader and expert.

What is the feedback from attendees who participate in HCS presentations?

Without a doubt, presentations are always very well received, rave reviews, never a complaint again in the 15 years that I've been with the association, and usually will leave the audience clamoring for more.

What makes HomeCareSales different from other training organizations?

The HCS team always brings great energy to any of the presentations that they do. We always know that the information that they will bring will be timely, relevant, disruptive, and they will also be an organization that just makes things easier all the way around for both attendees and partners to work with them.
