The interview

Can you introduce yourself and your professional background?

Hi, my name is Terry. I live in Yorktown Heights, New York. I am a retired registered nurse.

What health challenge led you to seek out the Khader Center?

I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was DCIS stage zero. And that means it was contained in the milk duct. I had to see a breast surgeon and he told me that I needed a lumpectomy and I needed radiation and I needed medication to block the estrogen. So I said, 'okay, I'll get the lumpectomy done, but I'm not getting radiation, I'm not getting medication.' So, the first person who came to my mind was Dina.

What specific treatments did Dina Khader recommend for you?

I saw Dina and she had told me she has mud packs that are available in her office. I can go in for treatment, and it's pretty easy and totally painless. I went in, I had a mud treatment. It detoxifies the cells, it detoxifies the breast tissue.

What was your experience with the mud pack treatments and follow-ups?

Honestly, I was quite shocked at how easy the treatment was. And after that I would go every year to get tested again, to see if I needed another mud pack for my breast. And it was very easy again. And I did it. And I never needed another mud pack.

How did the nutritional counseling and supplements impact your health?

Dina had also counseled me on nutritional advice. She told me which foods to eat and what not to eat, and she told me to exercise. She gave me a lot of good information, and also, she put me on great supplements to strengthen my immune system and to block the estrogen and give me energy. I'm able to do a lot more. I feel great, I really do.

What is the environment and staff like at the Khader Center?

Everybody there is very supportive. It's a beautiful environment there. It's a very healing space. When you go there you feel instantly calm. Dina is very special—and Andre, too. Andre and Dina and the whole staff are very warm and caring. They really welcome you with open arms. Dina has such positive energy and it's very, very contagious.
