The interview
What challenges was your son facing before starting the program?
About six years ago we noticed that our son was struggling with compulsive behavior, really poor sleep, kind of trapped inside of his own body.
What did you discover through the Foundations in Healing program?
We discovered the exact steps that we needed to help reduce the inflammation in our boy's body so we can really get to see the beautiful child inside. It was a perfect jumpstart for us to really understand what inflammation in the brain really means.
How did this program compare to other protocols you have tried?
It was easy to apply the information in real life. I haven't had a program like that ever. It's always been really complicated, difficult to get my kid to adapt to, or just something that falls off the radar because it's too hard to execute. She made it easy.
What was the most valuable lesson you learned from Dr. Lauren?
The most valuable thing I learned was to read the labels. We were into all the healthy things, but we were still consuming poisonous toxic foods that said they were clean or gluten friendly. With her methodology, my kids got involved as well and now they're obsessed in a good way with reading labels at the stores.
How was your experience with the course materials and handouts?
The user experience was so good and easy to navigate. We used the handouts for every assignment every week; it gave us a sense of completion. We printed them out to make them a little bit more 'sticky' for my kids to read through and thumb through with us.
How did the live calls and Q&A sessions benefit you?
The live calls and the Q&As with Dr. Lauren were super helpful to hear real-time feedback. I didn't always have questions but it was great to hear what the other parents were going through. If I couldn't make a call, I could just go back into the portal and the calls were always uploaded.
What specific wins did you see over the eight-week period?
My kid was talking to me about his food and his diet, which means something is clicking inside of him to help me help him. His sleep improved—more restful sleep. He would wake up more rejuvenated, with less brain fog and just more sensible. His logical reasoning is more solid; he's asking more questions and being more inquisitive about the decisions he's making.
Frequently asked
Is the Foundations in Healing program difficult for children to follow?
Lauren Powers noted that unlike previous complicated programs that were difficult for her child to adapt to, Dr. Lauren made this methodology easy to execute. The child even became 'obsessed' with reading food labels and actively participated in the dietary changes.
How does Althea Health & Wellness handle parent support?
The program includes live Q&A calls and a portal where recordings are uploaded. Lauren Powers found it helpful to hear real-time feedback and learn from the experiences of other parents going through similar struggles.
Can a holistic program help with a child's logical reasoning?
According to Lauren Powers, as her son's inflammation decreased and sleep improved, he became more inquisitive and sensible. She observed a shift where he began asking questions to make better decisions rather than acting on hyperactive impulses.
