The interview
What is your background and your philosophy on health?
I'm Carolyn Lee from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and I am retired. I have zero trust in 'Big Pharma' and the medical industrial complex and I believe completely in the power of plants and diet and mind/body connection. The whole system needs to be addressed not just the symptoms.
How do you balance western medicine with alternative modalities?
I just had a total knee replacement so I definitely needed that western medicine model for that. But supporting it with all sorts of alternative modalities—that's really what I believe in.
What has been your experience with supplements prior to this program?
I've been doing lots of detoxing and building up my body. I spend about $1,000 a month on supplements now and it's kind of taken over my whole day and night of 'I should be taking this now' and 'oh I got to take that in an hour.' It's driving me crazy.
How has Modern Holistic Health changed your approach to protocols?
To have been introduced to this system of modern holistic health, where it's cutting way down on the number of supplements that I have to take. You don't need that many intense protocols. It doesn't have to be that complicated.
What was your biggest takeaway regarding the mind-body connection?
More than any supplements is what's in the heart and what's in the mind. Don't believe everything that you think. Just to release some of those thought patterns, I think is more transformative than any surgery or supplement that one could be given.
Were you concerned the material would be too difficult to understand?
I am not a practitioner and so, I was thinking, 'Oh my goodness they're going to be saying these really complicated things. It's going to go over my head.' And that hasn't happened at all this whole weekend. Everything is so relatable.
How would you describe the team at Modern Holistic Health?
Everybody has so much heart and authenticity that it's completely inspiring. I think it's a team of people that have been carefully selected by Dr. V and her team and I'm just leaving with such inspiration and hope and joy.

What is the focus of the Modern Holistic Health weekend intensive?
