The interview
What does the future look like for you and what was your career background?
Future in my mind is being able to afford living for the next 20, 30 years, I hope. I'm not quite retired yet, looking for September as my timeframe. I was a contractor with a couple different groups with the US Navy doing Navy ERP, a business software they use, as a trainer and support.
How did you first hear about Panic Proof Retirement?
I saw a couple of the ads on, I don't know whether it's Facebook or an email popped in, and I started following him along and saying, 'Hey, this guy might be good to talk to.' So that got me hooked up.
What was the initial consultation process like with Dan?
He led me through to what he wanted to know about me, and I asked about what I wanted to know about him, and we ran numbers and things fell into place.
Why did you choose this firm over other financial companies?
One was I was talking with a company here. They weren't fiduciaries, and it was basically all around a annuity at the time, and the one that they showed me wasn't quite what I was looking for. But the one Dan talked about looked good. I checked into it, and that's the one we went with.
How would you describe the communication and service you received?
Through that initial process was really good. Got a lot of emails, a lot of communications, a lot of questions answered. At the start, it's been very good. That one deal that we made was good.
What is the primary benefit of the plan you implemented?
It's good. It gives me a little bit something to fall back on and not just the 401Ks. Seemed like Dan's pretty much upfront, has a good knowledge of what's going on.
Would you recommend Dan and Panic Proof Retirement to others?
I've watched a lot of his other videos that he does on some of the news programs and kind of like the way he thinks, so I would recommend it.
What are your next steps for your retirement planning?
Dan only has a portion of my portfolio, so I'd like to get a little more information. Let's say I wanna retire in September, get his feedback on when should I do the Roth conversions, when should I claim the Social Security, and all those things.
