Robert Gilles Santos of a Bounce House party room company credits Profit Doctor for a tremendous increase in profit. “Since joining this course, we've increased our profit tremendously. We've onboarded our team on our financials.”
“They were actually looking at about five to 10 numbers that made a lot more sense in their minds. And they were working every month to improve those numbers and outcomes.”
“I don't think that if I wasn't with the Profit Doctor, we would have gotten that line of credit mostly because we weren't really paying attention to how our business looked like from an outside perspective.”
The interview
What is your name and what business do you own?
My name is Robert Gilles Santos. I'm from Houston, Texas, and I own a Bounce House party room company that serves Houston, Austin, and Dallas.
How did you first meet Ben Hansen and what was your initial situation?
I met Ben from the EO Entrepreneurs Organization chapter. He offered help to companies that were looking to improve their profitability. When we first engaged Profit Doctor, profit was decent. However, when I talked to Ben, he described how it could be way better and I decided to give him a chance.
How did Profit Doctor help you manage your financial data?
When we joined Profit Doctor, we had a P&L that was like 60, 70 lines of data. One of the cool things about working with Ben is he has a simplified process where you can simplify your P&L. It opened a lot of eyes with our team because they were actually looking at about five to 10 numbers that made a lot more sense in their minds.
What specific changes did you make to your operations and how quickly did you see results?
I think within the first month we saw a big change. One the things we did was we looked at our pricing and we saw that there were some products that were underpriced. We worked with Profit Doctor over three quarters and saw results immediately after the second month.
What did you learn about your pricing strategy through this process?
We thought we had a product that was a commodity. We found that if customers were booking late, they were willing to pay any price to secure entertainment. Before, we just chose random prices we thought would work, but Ben's team showed us that you should be testing pricing and it can immediately impact your business.
How did working with Profit Doctor affect your ability to secure financing?
We grew rapidly and doubled and tripled our business, which put us in a delicate situation without appropriate lines of credit for our slow time. Because we were with Profit Doctor, we were able to go to our bank in October and show them financials in a very healthy situation. They approved us for a much higher line of credit.
Would you recommend Profit Doctor to other business owners?
I'd recommend them to any business owner. Ben and Ginger have been very helpful, making me feel comfortable with our numbers and introducing those numbers to our growing team. The videos are always accessible from his platform, which is really cool.
Frequently asked

How can I make my financial reports easier for my team to understand?
Robert Gilles Santos used Profit Doctor to simplify a P&L with 70 lines of data down to 5 to 10 key numbers. This allowed his team to actually understand the metrics and work every month to improve those specific outcomes.
Can better financial management help me get a bank loan?
Absolutely. Robert Gilles Santos shared that by presenting healthy financials developed through Profit Doctor, his bank approved a much higher line of credit that he believes he wouldn't have received otherwise.
