The interview

What is your background and experience with The Sleep Lady?

I was one of Kim's first 50 sleep coaches trained in 2011. Later down the road, I also got trained as a postpartum doula and infant feeding specialist. As a former school teacher, I saw how much sleep impacted students in their learning process.

What specific sleep struggles do you help families resolve?

I help families who have a child that might be co-sleeping make that transition to a crib or their own bed. I also work with toddlers and preschoolers on sleep manners and help families reset early rising with flexible routines.

What does the process look like when a family starts working with you?

When we hop on a call, we touch base to see the best next steps for your unique situation. If you decide to work with me, we dive into a history form to really get to know who you are and who your little one is.

Can you share a recent success story regarding co-sleeping?

I had a family co-sleeping with a toddler where the mama was not getting any sleep and wanted to change from feeding all night long. We created a plan to meet her nursing goals, help the child sleep, and include the dad. The parents were surprised and told me, 'I can't believe he's doing it!'

How do you apply these sleep coaching tools in other areas of life?

I have had a fear of dogs all my life, and we recently adopted a rescue named Scout. I have been implementing The Sleep Lady Shuffle and scaffolding to help him, becoming the 'calm, confident leader of the pack.' It shows how these tools work in all life situations.

Hey there. I'm Irene Gouge, founder and CEO of Loving Lesson Sleep Solutions, where I help families that are struggling with sleep get sleep. I'm here to help you become a calm, confident and rested parent in your journey. I love helping families who have a child that might be co sleeping. Helping families make that transition from co sleeping to sleeping in their crib or their own bed is really great because I love working with families who have toddlers and preschoolers who might need to learn some sleep manners. And also, if you are struggling with early rising, that is also something that I love to help families reset with some really great flexible routines. I was one of Kim's 1st 50 sleep coaches trained in 2011 and later down the road, I got trained as a postpartum doula and infant feeding specialist If you're curious to learn a little bit more about what it might look like to work together, when we hop on a call, we can go ahead and touch base and see what's going on. What are the best next steps for your particular situation? Every family is unique and there is a possibility and a solution waiting for you. And if you decide to work with me, one of the best next things we'll do is we're going to dive into a history form to really get to know who you are, who your little one is, and also to figure out those best next steps. I love help helping families get sleep because sleep impacts everything that we do. And as a former school teacher, one of the things that I would see is how much sleep was impacting students in their learning process. And more than anything, even helping parents get sleep in their learning process, too, because when we sleep better, we parent better. So more recently, one of my families who was co sleeping with their toddler and they were just done, mama was not getting any sleep, and she really desperately wanted to sleep and she also wanted to change from feeding all night long. So we created a plan that was going to help her meet her nursing goals, help her help her child get sleep, and also include dad. Because you know what? For so long, dad wasn't a part of the picture. And so it was amazing to watch this family take those next steps, bridge the learning for their little one and actually be able to get sleep. And they were so surprised. I always love getting the calls, like, oh, my gosh, I can't believe he's doing it. And it's like, yes, he's doing it because you're choosing to take those next steps to help bridge the learning for your child. And when families do that, they feel calm, they feel confident as they're doing those next steps, and then sleep happens, which is amazing, which is why I continue to do this work, because it's so rewarding to see parents go from so tired and overwhelmed to living life and enjoying life. Something that people may not know about me is that I have had a fear of dogs all my life. And just recently, we adopted a rescue, and little Scout has been helping me implement The Sleep Lady Shuffle and scaffold the learning and growing together as we are creating new rhythms and routines in our home. Being a newtime dog mama has been quite the journey, quite the experience, as I'm becoming the calm, confident leader of the pack, helping him through this, and also recognizing how the tools that I teach families with sleep coaching also work in all life situations. So it's been an amazing journey. I'm so grateful that I have this toolbox, and parents who sometimes tap into this start to understand how to do this throughout their day and all the things that they do as a parent. I look forward to working with you, so schedule your consultation down below.
