The interview

What was your life like before starting the program?

My life was fairly good until I was diagnosed as a diabetic. I had been working with Doctor Calabrese for many, many years, and she told me about this program. I really felt that I needed to make a significant change because I didn't want to go on any of those diet medications.

What made you trust the program and Dr. Calabrese?

I have had a long term relationship with her and I knew that whatever she suggested would be the very best for me. And I've been right. It's been a really good program for me.

Was there anything that almost prevented you from joining?

If there was something that would have prevented me from doing the program is likely the cost. However, I had some money in my HSA and I felt that this was the best way to use those funds because my health is critical. I was at a point where I was being impacted by my weight.

What other methods had you tried in the past?

I tried every diet—Weight Watchers, TOPS. I haven't been on medication; it's something I didn't want to do. But I've been dieting my whole life and nothing stuck or I never stuck with anything.

What makes Touchpoints180 different from your previous attempts?

The difference with this program is I'm sticking to it. I'm motivated. I'm supported by Doctor Calabrese and Rachel. And it really has saved my life.

What has surprised you most about the experience?

The enormous amount of support. Doctor Calabrese is very thorough; she explains everything. The nutritional component is amazing. The activities, the walks, and then the support of other patients has surprised me as well as kept me motivated.

What specific changes have you made and what are the results?

I'm eating healthy, I'm weighing my food, and I've made a commitment to walking, which is something I have never done before. I've been able to come off some of my medications without any adverse effect, and I feel great.

Why would you recommend this program to others?

I would recommend TouchPoints180 to friends and family because of the support and the success that I'm having with the program. And if I can be successful, anyone can.
