The interview
Can you introduce yourself and your business?
My name is Jen Hill. I'm in Lisbon, Portugal, and I'm the founder of the Jen Hill Tribe. The Jen Hill Tribe is a community of entrepreneurs globally on every continent around the world, with the exception of Antarctica. Four hundred and two extraordinary heart-led humans all up to helping one another and humanity.
What was your situation before working with Vision Software?
I was about to sell a tech company that I'd been building with a friend and co-founder for five years. My co-founder died that night. I wasn't sure what I was gonna do with my life. I had a WhatsApp group. I had no website, nothing really at the time. I had this community called the Jen Hill Tribe, but it wasn't yet a paid community.
How did you first connect with the company?
I happened to meet the founder at a dinner as I was on my way to his funeral, and it radically changed my life, because shortly thereafter, I wound up connecting with the founder and talking to him about the vision that I had for the product.
What were the results of the build and the timeline?
In less than five months, we've grown the community to over a hundred and forty paid members around the world. I think that end to end, it took three weeks to get the platform built, and then they've been amazing at follow-up ever since then.
How does this experience compare to your previous software development projects?
As somebody who invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into the last tech company I was building, that was a slog, and it took years, and every button took changes and thousands of dollars, it was refreshing. Stop working with traditional developers and go hire Vision Software.
What is the partnership like with the Vision Software team?
What I loved is the thought partnership. Sometimes you get developers who are very 'if X then Y.' What I love about the CEO of this company is that he's very visionary himself. We'll brainstorm often about new elements to add to the platform. I asked for an AI chatbot and he said, 'Done. We can do that.'
Can you describe a specific feature they built for you recently?
Our members had wanted a map that would notify members around the world. I tested this new thing I had asked for where I literally posted, 'At a trip, going to London,' and all of our London tribe members got a message saying, 'Jen, you're gonna be in town. Let's get together.' It's a new feature that everybody's excited to use.
What has been the overall financial impact on your business?
I'm in six-figure business in three months, so you can't do any better than that. I've already recommended Vision Software to at least twenty people.
