The interview

Why did you choose to work with Heather Tankersley?

When it came to working with a real estate agent, there was no other choice. Heather was my one and only on the buying side or the selling side. We needed to sell the house that I was living in with my husband, I needed to sell the house that my mom and dad lived in and we needed to find a house where we could have multigenerational living and at the same time, work from home.

What were the results of your home sales?

She helped me sell my home and it sold the first day on the open house and then she was magnificent with helping my mom and dad, who were in their eighties and my dad has dementia. Their house sold before it really even went on the market.

What is the overall benefit of working with Heather?

The overall benefit that I've experienced from working with Heather is a sense of relaxation and trust. Heather really is a genius with all things real estate. She moved forward with a quick speed, which I loved but never felt rushed. And she has a detail to subtleties that I wouldn't think of.

How does Heather approach the buying process for her clients?

She knows how to craft an irresistible offer. In the house I'm living in right now, we were the first to put in an offer and the only to put in an offer because she had us put in a little bit more with the contingency that they have to accept it within 24 hours and then they would have to cancel the open house. It made it a shoe-in that we would get the home without the stress of competitive offers.

What financial expertise does Heather bring to the table?

She is a wealth of knowledge. The way that she knows how to put together a loan and put together an offer that will work, the way that she helped me with one of the houses that she helped me to buy creating two mortgages so that I could pay one off and have another one that was lower. She watches the interest rate and structures things I didn't know about.

How would you describe Heather's communication and listening skills?

Heather is best at really listening to what you want, to what I wanted, to what I needed. Not trying to push her ideas onto me, not trying to make my desire fit into what is available. She's really good at listening and then going out and looking and finding and also in honest communication, telling me if I wouldn't find a price point in a certain part of town.

What makes Heather stand out from other real estate agents?

I know a lot of real estate agents and they're my really good friends, but I recommend Heather. She has been in real estate in so many different ways—teaching other agents, making products, doing a podcast, flipping homes for herself, and helping people with investments. The way she stages an open house is so creative and she brings holiday fun into the stagings.

She helped me sell my home and it sold the first day on the open house and then she was magnificent with helping my mom and dad, who were in their eighties and my dad has dementia so there was a lot going on with all of that which is why we moved in together but she was so gentle and encouraging and their house sold before it really even went on the market. And I've recommended her to numerous friends who are also just singing her praises because she really is the best! The overall benefit that I've experienced from working with Heather is a sense of relaxation and trust. Heather really is a genius with all things real estate. Whether it was buying a new home, selling the old home, helping my 80 year old parents sell their home. She moved forward with a quick speed, which I loved but never felt rushed. And she has a detail to subtleties that I wouldn't think of. We all maybe have a genius in some area and everything with real estate and buying and selling homes, Heather is a genius. If you just watch her walk into a home and look around, she sees things that I don't see. she sees possibility. When she staged our home that we sold the first day that it was for sale, it sold the house that I'm living in right now, this house we were the first to put in an offer and the only to put in an offer because she knows how to craft an irresistible offer on both sides. If you're sitting on the fence with who to work with my recommendation is hands down 100%, work with Heather. You can really trust her, she's going to get to the start and to the finish before anyone else but you know what's more than that? Heather really cares, she cares about her clients, she listens to what exactly you need, she was aware that in the home I'm living with now it needed to be a certain size and a certain layout so that my senior parents could come and live here with us, she knew that when selling my parents house, she needed to be gentle because they were older and they didn't have the energy to fix it up. She uniquely works with each client in the way that they need and although she is brilliant intellectually, she works with an open heart. I knew Heather was right for me by just listening to her talk about real estate. She is a wealth of knowledge. The way that she knows how to put together a loan and put together an offer that will work, the way that she helped me with one of the houses that she helped me to buy creating two mortgages so that could pay one off and have another one that was lower. I didn't know the possibility of those things, the way that she watches the interest rate, the way that she structures all the things that I didn't know about, she took care of that for me and it really made me feel like someone was on my team. And one of my experiences working with Heather, something that she did that helped us so much, is she got us into the home where we are, which had, we had very specific needs, working from home and caretaking for my parents and she got us into house to see it first and the way that she had us put in an offer and put in a little bit more with the offer but with the contingency that they have to accept it within 24 hours and then they would have to cancel the open house, made it a shoe in that we would get the home without the stress of competitive offers. I would have never have thought of that. The way that she helped us create a double mortgage so that we could pay one off and then for the term of the 30 years, have an extremely low monthly payment. Heather is best at really listening to what you want, to what I wanted, to what I needed. Not trying to push her ideas onto me, not trying to make my desire fit into what is available, she's really good at listening and then going out and looking and finding and also in honest communication. You're probably not going to find that price point here, you might want to look here. The honesty sometimes I needed that. You're not going to find what you're looking for in that part of town, let's look over here. I recommend Heather to all my friends. So many of my friends have now bought and sold homes with Heather because in my opinion, she is the best. I know a lot of real estate agents and they're my really good friends and I like them a lot but I recommend Heather. Heather is just a wealth of experience. She has been in real estate in so many different ways. Whether it's teaching other real estate agents, making products, doing a podcast, flipping homes for herself, helping other people with investments the way that she stages an open house, the way that she is so creative and so fun in what she does, the way that she incorporates it into your lifestyle, the way she brings holiday fun into the stagings of the home. It is so enjoyable to watch somebody approach their career and approach what they do with such creativity and she's just so smart about it.
