From Unexplained Infertility and Failed IUI to Natural Pregnancy Success

We just felt like things started to change, like, for the better. My name is Hannah and I live in Richmond, Virginia, and I'm an executive assistant, so I fully work from home and work with families and businesses all over the country. I got married in 2020. Um, we got married, like, two weeks into COVID, and that was, like, everything for the wedding just got completely, like, shut down. We still had it, still got married. We decided to, like, stop preventing getting pregnant about a year after we got married. We were, like, super excited, just, like, ready to go and we were, like, ready for it to happen, like, super quick. I'm super healthy. I have, like, regular cycles. There was no reason why we shouldn't have gotten pregnant. A year into trying we were like, "Okay, this is, um, not working." I had just turned 24 and my husband was only 26, so we were just like, "We have time," but also, like, you start to just get really nervous. It was causing just a lot of anxiety for us and so we started down normal, conventional fertility testing. Of course, they send you through thousands of dollars of testing, but it's not really in depth. And then, um, of course they told us, "It's unexplained. Nothing's wrong. Let's go through IUI." And so we went through the first cy- cycle and we're like, "Okay, well, like, let's just pray this works." And it didn't. And so the, the phone call for them to call and tell me that it didn't work, they were like, "So it wasn't gonna happen this time, but let's talk about IVF." And I was like, "Um, excuse me, like, I'm 24 years old. There's no reason I should be doing IVF right now." And so then, like, I left that conversation and I was like, "Something just doesn't feel right with me." And so, like, I just was laying in bed with my husband that night. I'm like, "I can't go through with this." I just feel, like, a huge thing of me thinking, like, "I've gotta stop. I don't know what the next steps are, but I know this isn't it." And so we called, canceled everything. So then we started up the next year and did a couple rounds of acupuncture, which was, like, really getting us into, like, the health side of fertility. We got on some supplements and stuff and then that summer I had gotten advertisements about Reimagine Health. This looks like something we can do. And so I started the call and talked to them, told them everything about my story and they were like, "You're definitely the clientele we're looking for." And so we decided on it and dove in. My mom always had the perspective of, like, let's get to the root cause of things. She would read articles and do all this research and talk to lots of different types of doctors and try to get different perspectives. Like, she never was like, "Let's just, like, take a pill and be done with this." Seeing, like, someone actually post about all the root cause stuff, the thyroid stuff, the, the food you're eating, inflammation, just, like, all those pieces plus the side of, like, your mental health and breathing and things like that that you definitely forget to do when you're in a stressful situation. I think the biggest hesitation for me was the cost. Obviously, it was not IVF cost, but it was definitely expensive. By the time we were done with the program, I was not having any more issues with yeast infections, not having any more UTIs. We felt honestly better than we'd ever had ... either one of us had ever felt in our lives. There wasn't any more of, like, the worry about the situation. It was like we knew we were doing everything that we could and we were doing the best that we could instead of hurting our bodies. We just kind of, like, took a break, kept just living life, and then a couple months ago we found out we were pregnant. [laughs] It's so worth it, so worth looking at every little thing that you're doing in your life, all the products in your house, all the food in your pantry, your blood work, all that stuff, and also with your partner because I think they're a lot of the times the ones that get neglected. They're not on the same page. That would make it definitely worth it. [laughs]
