Hannah Futrell achieved a natural pregnancy after working with Reimagined Health to address the root causes of her unexplained infertility. After a failed IUI and pressure to start IVF at age 24, Hannah transitioned to Dr. Nashat Latib’s functional medicine approach. Beyond the pregnancy, she reported the resolution of chronic UTIs and yeast infections.

“We just kind of, like, took a break, kept just living life, and then a couple months ago we found out we were pregnant.”
The interview
Can you introduce yourself and your background?
My name is Hannah and I live in Richmond, Virginia, and I'm an executive assistant, so I fully work from home and work with families and businesses all over the country. I got married in 2020, like two weeks into COVID.
What was your experience with conventional fertility treatments?
A year into trying we were like, 'Okay, this is not working.' I had just turned 24 and my husband was only 26. We started down normal, conventional fertility testing. They send you through thousands of dollars of testing, but it's not really in depth. They told us, 'It's unexplained. Nothing's wrong. Let's go through IUI.' We went through the first cycle and it didn't work.
Why did you decide against moving forward with IVF?
The phone call for them to call and tell me that [the IUI] didn't work, they were like, 'So it wasn't gonna happen this time, but let's talk about IVF.' And I was like, 'Um, excuse me, like, I'm 24 years old. There's no reason I should be doing IVF right now.' Something just doesn't feel right with me. I told my husband, 'I've gotta stop. I don't know what the next steps are, but I know this isn't it.'
What drew you to Reimagined Health and the root cause approach?
My mom always had the perspective of, 'let's get to the root cause of things.' Seeing someone actually post about all the root cause stuff, the thyroid stuff, the food you're eating, inflammation, just all those pieces plus the side of your mental health and breathing. I had gotten advertisements about Reimagine Health and I started the call and talked to them.
Did you have any hesitations before joining the program?
I think the biggest hesitation for me was the cost. Obviously, it was not IVF cost, but it was definitely expensive.
What physical changes did you notice after completing the program?
By the time we were done with the program, I was not having any more issues with yeast infections, not having any more UTIs. We felt honestly better than either one of us had ever felt in our lives. There wasn't any more of the worry about the situation.
What was the ultimate outcome of your journey with Reimagined Health?
We just kind of took a break, kept just living life, and then a couple months ago we found out we were pregnant. It's so worth it, so worth looking at every little thing that you're doing in your life, all the products in your house, all the food in your pantry, your blood work, all that stuff.
Frequently asked
Is Reimagined Health worth the cost compared to IVF?
Hannah Futrell noted that while the program was expensive, it was not as costly as IVF. She concluded it was 'so worth it' because it addressed her blood work, home products, and pantry to improve her overall health.
Can functional medicine help with unexplained infertility?
Yes, Hannah turned to Reimagined Health after conventional doctors labeled her case 'unexplained' and recommended IVF. By focusing on root causes like thyroid health, inflammation, and mental health, she was able to conceive naturally.
Does Reimagined Health involve the partner in the process?
Hannah emphasized that the program included her husband, noting that partners often get neglected in fertility journeys. She felt it was vital that they were both on the same page and feeling their best.
