The interview
What was the experience of being around the other attendees like?
It was about being around people you're in alignment with—great people you can feel a sense of trust with, share with, and respect. It was a place to have amazing conversations about things that mattered with other successful couples who were together for the right reasons.
What were your goals for attending the Summit of Love?
We didn't come here to solve a problem or find our inner core. We've been together a lifetime. We wanted strategies to get even higher up in a relationship that started out very great and still is, taking it to the next level.
What was the biggest takeaway from the event?
The biggest takeaway was an additional 20 or 30% appreciation for each other, which Richard didn't even think was possible. It reinforced how magnificent and special his partner is and how blessed he feels to have her in his life.
What practical tools did you gain?
We gained practical strategies for how we can optimize our relationship more in terms of depth and using our free time as best as humanly possible. We also learned how to connect more by hearing from people we really respect.
How did the experience change your perspective on other couples?
It was a revelation to watch other couples, some of whom fought through heavy stuff. It made us appreciate our own relationship and all we've built over the years, while also showing us how other couples develop unique tools to help each other.
How would you describe the uniqueness of the Summit of Love?
It is completely unique. It’s a safe place where you are around people who can make your life and relationship better. It is a rare opportunity to be with happy couples who have the actual desire and commitment to share what they've learned and learn from others.
Frequently asked
Is Summit of Love only for couples with major problems?
No, Lisa and Richard explicitly stated they did not come to solve a problem or find their 'inner core.' They used the experience to take a relationship that was already 'very, very great' to the next level.
What if I am not the type of person who likes relationship masterminds?
Lisa admitted she is not a 'relationship counselor, masterminder, talk about our relationship kind of person' and had no expectations. However, she found the revelation of watching other couples work through issues to be amazing and reinforcing for her own partnership.
What makes the Summit of Love environment different from a typical social setting?
Richard noted that it is rare to be around a large group of couples who actually like each other and have the commitment to grow. He described the environment as a safe place with people in total alignment who share a desire to optimize their lives.
