The interview

What was your initial motivation for joining Wellness Lifestyle Partners?

I initially just thought, well, I'm not doing too bad, so I'll go ahead and do it to support my wife. It's easier to make food for two instead of one and go through the whole thing.

What specific health concerns were you facing before starting?

I found that there were some things that I was having—I just had some my A1C level that was a little high. I also had a pain in my right heel that would just flare up every so often.

What convinced you to try this specific approach to health?

We went to a seminar that they had. Dr. Mallick went through some things that I hadn't heard before regarding aches and pains, and how certain conditions can go back to a problem with gut health. What they said rang true, so we were pretty excited about trying it.

How was your experience with the diet and detox phase?

It started out pretty easy. They did the labs and gave us what we could eat and what we couldn't eat. It started out not very restrictive; they actually gave us recipes. We got into some vegetables we hadn't eaten before and I was surprised they were fairly good. During the detox phase, the shakes were actually very good.

What physical changes did you notice after starting the program?

I did see changes. Like I said, my heel stopped hurting, and some other little aches and pains kind of went away. I did have more energy; I was able to play with the granddaughter a little bit more. I wasn't expecting to lose weight, but I lost about 16 pounds.

What is your overall takeaway from the experience?

I think we're better off physically than we were and I think we're healthier. It wasn't hard to do. If you do what they say, and you listen to counselors, and you listen to Dr. Mallick and Zayba, then you're gonna come out all right.

Frequently asked

Is the Wellness Lifestyle Partners program too restrictive to follow?

Jay Stubblefield noted that the program started out not very restrictive and included recipes for vegetables he enjoyed. He mentioned that while it requires dedication, the shakes were good and the process was not hard to follow.

Can gut health programs help with chronic aches and pains?

Yes, Jay decided to try the program after learning how aches and pains can link back to gut health. After starting, his recurring heel pain stopped and other minor aches disappeared.

Do I need to be 100% perfect on the wellness program to see results?

According to Jay, Dr. Mallick emphasizes an 80-20 rule. Jay explained that if you follow the program 80% of the time, you are still able to achieve good results.
