The interview

What was your fitness routine and the problem you were facing before starting Qiveda?

I have a meditation practice, and I did that every morning. And then in the evening, I would go to the gym and work out. I ended up hurting myself at the gym because I wasn't lifting correctly. And I just was probably pushing my body too hard. And so I ended up injuring my shoulder. The injury took about three months to get over.

What were you looking for in a new practice?

I needed something that I could really kind of integrate the practice of my meditation practice along with the physical aspect.

What was your experience working with Greg and establishing a routine?

I started working with Greg, and he got me into the habit of going up to the rooftop first thing in the morning. As soon as I got up, I had a drink of water and then I'd get my stuff together and go and it was amazing to experience the sunrise and have a practice that allowed me to just have this amazing experience.

How did the Qigong practice affect your shoulder injury?

It was also physically not easy, but also not the way I was pushing myself with weights that caused an injury. It allowed me to kind of start exercising my muscles, and my shoulder was injured, but I didn't really feel the injury when I started doing it. And in fact, it felt better. I felt as time went on, my shoulder was getting better and better.

What surprised you most about the results of your practice?

What surprised me the most about my new Qigong practice, I felt so grounded and ready for my day. There were a few times when I would miss the Qigong practice in the morning because I either had the early meeting or I was up late and I couldn't get up, and I could definitely feel the difference. The flexibility that I started experiencing as well. And especially the stretching part.

Have you integrated these techniques into other parts of your life?

There's a leg exercise that he taught that I love to do when I go to the gym now. I could feel the blood flowing into my legs.

What was it like working with Greg as an instructor?

I would recommend Greg and QiVeda to my friends. He just made me feel so comfortable and was very nurturing. If I had questions, I can text him and he would get back to me right away. Greg was such a great person to work with.

How has this changed your understanding of movement and energy?

I've always been interested in martial arts, and now I have a much better understanding of what they're talking about. You're starting to get more in tune. I'm looking forward to continuing the practice and growing and being more intuitive and being in tune with the energy.
