The interview

Can you introduce yourself and your professional background?

Hi, I'm Nancy Holland. I live in Ventura, California. I'm a lactation consultant, a postpartum doula and most recently, in 2022, I became a Gentle Sleep Coach.

What is the most valuable part of the Gentle Sleep Coach (GSC) family?

One of the marks that I think is the best about GSC family—having the ability to get to other practitioners. It's just invaluable. We have a private Facebook page, we have access to Kim, we have access to so much education. It's always changing and evolving and I just feel like that is exactly what you need. You just never feel like you're in this alone, you always have someone that will be there to help you.

Did you learn anything new despite your existing medical and doula training?

I've learned so much about reflux, about low ferritin, low iron in babies. Things that I had never even come across before. Even with all the education that I've had as a doula and a lactation consultant. So it's been invaluable.

How prepared do you feel to work with families after this training?

I absolutely feel that I'm well-trained and prepared to work with moms and dads. You can get on calls with Kim and you can ask questions. There's such a wealth of experience in what she's done and how she's taken this from, focused on babies in general, then to zero in five months. It's been amazing. Even children with disabilities.

Does the program offer any support for business growth?

I do think the GSC program really does want you to do better and to market your business. They give you so many opportunities. It's making a big difference.

Would you recommend the program to others?

I would definitely recommend it. It's been life-changing as far as my overall practice and I appreciate the information and just the support that I have gotten all along the way.
