Overcoming Severe Neuropathy Through Rehabilitative Services and Supportive Assisted Living Community

The Vistas have become my family. I've met wonderful people here. I made wonderful friendships. I do a lot of activities with the people here. There's always something fun to do at the Vistas. There's a broad spectrum of things to do and have fun and laugh... we all need to laugh. Before I came to the Vistas, I transferred over from the Grove, which I had been at for two years. I was in there for rehabilitative services. I could not walk. I had such severe neuropathy and their treatments and their rehab services were wonderful; seeing that all my exercises and everything were done. The wheelchair is basically because I have balance issues and there are some days where my legs are weak. Between the balance issues and the weakness they figured 'better safe in a wheelchair than sorry.' My first day here ,coming from the Grove, they welcomed me with open arms. They were all extremely kind. They made it very easy to adapt to my surroundings. Got to my room, moved in and it's just been comfy, warming. And then, all the staff here is just so courteous, so helpful. I've never seen them presented with a problem they couldn't solve And the CNAs here are phenomenal. There's always something to do - whether you choose to do it or not but there's always something. The things I do to occupy my time are needlepoint. I'm rather a solitary person, I always have been. But I have a lot of friends through here that I see and talk to... but the needlepoint, reading - activities. Whatever activity floats my boat that I'm - I'm gonna go for.
